GPVEC welcomes three new faculty members

UNL administration recently hired three new faculty members for the Great Plains Veterinary Educational Center (GPVEC): Dr. Rebecca Funk, Dr. Erin Jobman, and Dr. Lindsay Waechter-Mead. Each comes from a different background and will serve students & the state of Nebraska in varying ways.


Dr. Funk was previously a veterinarian at Rushville Veterinary Clinic in Rushville, Nebraska. She currently fills the role of Assistant Professor of Practice & Animal Health Teaching and Extension Specialist. Her duties entail teaching elective veterinary student rotations at GPVEC and statewide extension activities focusing on animal health and production management for both producers and veterinary practitioners.

Dr. Jobman is coming from private practice in Gothenburg, Nebraska. She has accepted the position of Postdoctoral Associate and Clinical Veterinarian. Dr. Jobman's responsibilities consist of teaching veterinary student electives at GPVEC and statewide extension activities focusing on animal health and production management for both producers and veterinary practitioners.

Dr. Waechter-Mead was formerly a mixed animal practitioner at the Animal Clinic in Hastings, Nebraska. She assumes the role of Lecturer and Clinical Practice Veterinarian. Dr. Waechter-Mead will teach production animal medicine to veterinary students and support veterinarians as well as livestock producers through extension education and outreach programs.
